Rolling Sevens (pt. 2)
This is the second half of my Arts & Ideas Image/Text Thesis (Highest Honors).
It is a list of ways to “roll a seven”: rolling sevens by sleeping in. Rolling sevens by folding laundry. Rolling sevens by making coffee. Rolling sevens by calling mom. I take this metaphor of impossibility, of a toxic relationship between two beings, and flip it on its head. The tenacity and insistence to keep “rolling” the die is representative of the narrator’s determination to keep living.
With these vibrant photos, I invite you to consider the moments in your life that free you, that make you feel as though you can breathe easier. I invite you to look at your reflection in the mirror, and roll a seven.
